The Electricity Supplier Company for Tbilisi is Changing from July
Starting July 1, the electricity supply for the population of Tbilisi will be provided by the "Tbilisi Electricity Supplier Company" – Telmico. This company will serve subscribers instead of "Telasi." All "Telasi" customers will automatically become "Telmico" subscribers. The change of the electricity supplier is driven by a large-scale energy sector reform, within which Georgia is transitioning to the European model of the energy market.
This change will not cause any difficulties for the population. Customers should only take into account that in July, they will receive two bills:
• A bill from "Telasi" for electricity consumed before July 1.
• A bill from "Telmico" for electricity consumed after July 1.
Accordingly, customers should pay attention to the following: the June debt should be paid to "Telasi," while the July debt should be covered with "Telmico."
It is important to note that the total amount of both bills will not exceed the standard volume of the monthly electricity fee. This scheme is only active during the transition period in July. Subsequently, the billing delivery system and payment channels will remain unchanged for the customer.
Significantly, this process will not result in any changes to electricity tariffs.
