Electricity Subsidy Amount Increased
According to the decision of the Government of Georgia dated May 4, 2026, the electricity tariff subsidy for socially vulnerable and large families has been increased. The benefit aims to ease utility expenses for these groups of the population.
The Government of Georgia’s resolution regarding the increased subsidy came into force on April 1, 2026, and therefore also applies to electricity charges billed for the month of April.
For information, the subsidy amounts have been distributed as follows:
• Families with a social rating score below 70,000 will receive an additional subsidy of 5 tetri. In total, they will receive, as assistance, the difference between the consumer tariff effective in December 2020 and July 2015, plus an additional 8.5 tetri per 1 kWh. Previously, this amount was 3.5 tetri per 1 kWh.
• Families with a social rating score higher than 70,000 and less than or equal to 150,000 will receive a subsidy of 8.5 tetri per 1 kWh for up to 200 kWh of electricity consumption. Previously, this amount was 3.5 tetri per 1 kWh.
Please note that customers are not required to submit any additional documents to Telmico. The April subsidy will be reflected automatically in the near future based on the database of the Social Service Agency.
