Statement of "Telmico" regarding the amount of the billed charges
Since July 8, the Tbilisi electricity supplier company "Telmico" has begun sending out bills to customers. These bills reflect the electricity consumption charges starting from July 1. Some subscribers have expressed dissatisfaction, as they believed the charges did not correspond to their actual electricity consumption volume.
To keep the public informed, we consider it our responsibility to explain the reasons behind this situation. "Telmico" began providing customer service on July 1; therefore, payment for electricity consumed prior to July 1 was to be made to the company "Telasi."
For the purpose of final settlement between "Telasi" and its customers, subscribers were given the opportunity to record their meter readings as of June 30. Those subscribers received bills corresponding to their exact, factual consumption. For customers who were unable to submit their readings as of June 30, the volume of electricity consumed was determined based on the average consumption of the previous month.
In early July, exact readings were taken which reflected the precise volume of electricity consumed during June and the first days of July. It is important to note that in July, the total sum of the bills sent by both companies—"Telasi" and "Telmico"—corresponds exactly to the volume of electricity consumed over a 30-calendar-day period. Additionally, it should be noted that electricity tariffs have not changed since July 1.
Furthermore, it should be taken into account that electricity consumption generally increased during the month of June due to hot weather and the resulting frequent use of air conditioning.
