TELMICO Advises Customers on the Necessity of Timely Electricity Payments

In the event of a breach of electricity payment deadlines, the Tbilisi electricity supplier company, TELMICO, will issue a request for a deposit payment. This decision is based on Article 24 of the "Electricity Retail Market Rules," approved by Resolution No. 47 of GNERC on August 13, 2020. According to the resolution, any customer who fails to pay the service fee on time three or more times within a continuous 12-month period will be charged a deposit. Payment of this deposit, along with the current debt, will be mandatory.

TELMICO explains that timely payment for electricity is a guarantee of stable supply for all the company's subscribers. The funds received from customers are directed by the company toward covering services that ensure the sustainable and efficient operation of the energy system.

Customers will be warned in advance regarding the potential accrual of a deposit. After two instances of payment deadline violations, a warning will be sent via SMS to the subscriber's phone number. If a violation occurs again following the warning, a deposit will be charged and reflected in the subscriber's current balance.
